Out Of Bounds (Rule 27-1)
  • Beyond any boundary fence or wall enclosing farmland and the white posts around the practice fairway at the 9th and the 18th
  • Outside the line of white posts, or rail, behind the 18th green and the 1st tee
  • The Green Keepers sheds and work area as defined by either a white line or a cut turf line
Roads, Tracks & Paths
  • The roadway alongside the 18th, 2nd, 9th and 7th is an immovable obstruction and should be treated within Rule 24-2. Please be aware of the nearest point of relief before you touch or move your ball from the roadway
  • All other tracks and roadways are integral parts of the course
Water Hazard (Rule 26)
  • The Dew pond between the 10th and 17th holes is a water hazard within the area marked
Stones in bunkers
  • Are movable obstructions. Rule 24-1 applies
Winter Greens
  • All winter greens, their banks and the surrounding area within one club length, NOT in play are Ground under repair. Play prohibited and relief must be taken under Rule 25-1. Where a blue and yellow post is evident the ball must be dropped within one club length of the post
Fixed Sprinkler Heads
  • Are immovable obstructions and relief from interference may be obtained under Rule 42-2. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief, without penalty as follows
  • If the ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two club lengths of the intervening obstructions it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which
  • is not nearer the hole
  • avoids such intervention
  • is not in a hazard or on a putting green
Aeration holes on the green
  • If a ball comes to rest in or on an aeration hole made by the green keeper the player may place the ball at the nearest spot, not nearer the hole which avoids such situation. Rule 33-8, Decisions 33-8/32
Penalty for breach of local rule
  • Match play - loss of hole
  • Stroke play - two strokes
  • In addition to these local rules it is a club rule that no player may retrieve a ball out of bounds over any fence guarding farmland - there are no exceptions
